Assisting Pennsylvania Businesses with State, Federal & Local Laws, Administrative & Regulatory Matters

Recognizing that regulation is a fact of everyday life for our clients, our administrative attorneys take a multi-level approach to helping our clients navigate through the myriad of federal, state and local regulations that impact their lives and businesses.

First, we have our fingers on the pulses of the many ever-changing federal, state and local regulatory agencies, commissions, departments and boards, and help shape the opinions of the regulators so that any regulations that are issued encompass the needs of our clients. To do so, we work pro-actively with our clients and keep them informed of proposed and/or newly enacted regulations that impact them. By keeping ahead of the curve, our clients are able to provide much needed input to the regulators who shape the regulatory environment in which they conduct business.

Next, because our attorneys are knowledgeable about the regulations themselves, various agency counsel, staff and decision makers recognize the contributions of our firm and work with us so that we may effectively guide our regulated clients through complex issues such as licensure, permitting and compliance, to avoid the potential consequences of inadvertent mistakes.

However, in the event of an agency enforcement action against a client, our attorneys are intimately familiar with the requirements and nuances of administrative litigation and practice. As a result, we can zealously represent our clients’ substantive positions without fear of being tripped up by a regulatory requirement or procedural rule different from those of a traditional litigation practice. In summary, our attorneys can place the focus squarely where it needs to be – on the merits of the case.

Finally, in the event that an appeal from an agency decision is necessary, the same attorneys who handled the matter before the regulatory body are competent and capable of filing any necessary appeals and handling the matter to its ultimate conclusion. This means that the attorneys most familiar with both the procedural posture and the merits of the case are available to handle the appeal, avoiding duplication of effort, avoiding delay, and eliminating the learning curve common in many other offices. Thus, our clients receive “turn key” legal representation, which is both efficient and cost effective.
